St Anne’s is situated in the district of Lytham in Blackpool, just a few hundred metres from Blackpool Pleasure Beach. But don’t let that put you off, St Anne’s is a spectacular kite beach with a big kite surfing scene.
The beach is huge and at various states of tide features flat water lagoons for practicing those tricks you’re trying to get dialled. Watch out though, the water can be just a few inches deep in places! If waves are your thing you can head a bit further out or ride north to the neighbouring Starr Gate, where they can get pretty big (but pretty mushy).
St Anne’s will work on anything from SSE clockwise all the way round to NW. The beach curves round to the North to Starr Gate which practically runs from N to S, so if the wind swings further round to a pure northerly, just head North to Starr Gate.
