Beach Guide
Hazards
Wooden posts in rows down to the water, easily seen, room to kite between or beyond them. Lifeguards are on duty during the Summer season.
Beach Access
From Coleraine, follow signs for city centre (very small city!) then Portstweart / Strand. This takes you through the one-way-system. Google maps finds the beach easily. Free parking out of season. In Summer season parking is approximately £4 for the day, although you can park on the road for free and walk down. The £4 is worth it though to have your car / van right at your launch point.
Wind Direction
North
Water Type
Wave and kickers. Can be kited at all tide states, although there\'s not much beach at high water, albeit sand dunes beyond this. Ideally arrive 1.5-2 hours after high water to park right on the beach and launch from there.
