East Beach is located at Southend-on-Sea in Essex, which apparently boasts the longest pleasure pier in the world. But you don’t care about that — you’re here to find out about kitesurfing at East Beach. East Beach is really popular with kitesurfers, especially during the summer months. The local kitesurf school uses this beach for teaching and have a designated kite area between the boom and the slipway. East Beach will work on anything from NE all the way around to a SW.
Beach Access
There is dedicated parking for the beach / common. This is gated and locked though the winter. Keys are available from the local council, and many local kitesurfers already have a set. There's also on street parking just outside the gate, and the walk to the beach from here is just 50m.
Code of Conduct
There is a large grass area for launching and landing in the designated kite area between the boom and the slipway. The local kite club has worked really hard to build a good relationship with the foreshore office, so please ensure you stick to the designated areas and be considerate to other beach users.
