Earnse Bay, Walney Island
active 6 years, 1 month agoWalney Island, is situated at the western end of Morecambe Bay, and forms part of the town of Barrow-in-Furness. It is separated from mainland Barrow by Walney Channel, and is accessed via the Jubilee Bridge.
It’s western coast is exposed the the Irish Sea, meaning it’s a windy spot and faces in exactly the right direction for the UK’s predominant winds.
The Island has two Kitesurfing spots; Earnse Bay and The Tip. Both feature large, shallow, sandy beaches. As the tide goes out expect some flat water lagoons for freestyle/wakestyle fun.
Earnse Bay will work on anything from S clockwise through to N.
